Can my husband sue someone for filing a false police report against him?

My husband has a crazy ex. She filed assualt charges against him. 6 weeks later her roommate filed charges against him for the same incident, but she put the wrong date on the warrant. Can we sue her?Can my husband sue someone for filing a false police report against him?
Yes. THat is a federal offense. Can my husband sue someone for filing a false police report against him?
Proving what damages?

Let those sleeping dogs lie.
all you need is evidence
you have to prove damages, which he would not be able to do...revenge isn't legal but it sure is fun.
You can't because you don't have legal standing.

He needs the advice of an attorney that represents him, not the advice of random people on here.
id talk to an attorney about it but i think so
He beats the crap out of his ex and her roommate and you want to sue her? are you seeing this clearly?
You can't sue anyone.

Your husband could sue, but he would not win, and it would likely be tossed out of court. A wrong date and a false police report are not the same thing. The wrong date on a warrant could easily be explained away as a typo or clerical error, and you have to PROVE -- not think, but be able to prove, with evidence -- that someone intentionally and fraudulently lied on a warrant in order to even think about suing them.

I think your man should worry about the assault charges instead of dreaming up things to sue people for.
You (or in this case your husband) cannot sue someone for monetary damages unless you yourself have been damaged. So unless you can prove defamation of character or loss of income due to mental distress, medical payments made to a therapist, etc., you don't have a case.
Your husband has a naive wife.

If he is assaulting his ex and her roommate, guess who is next?
