Every year TV reports, newspaper articles, ect., bring out the false pagan origins of Christmas.?

Why would Christians, who claim to worship in truth and light, celebrate a totally false holiday, one that in truth has nothing to do with Christ?Every year TV reports, newspaper articles, ect., bring out the false pagan origins of Christmas.?
Yes , it's pagan holidays! Most people who are Christians don't even know that because they don't digging enough to find the prove.Every year TV reports, newspaper articles, ect., bring out the false pagan origins of Christmas.?
Most of the traditions of Christmas are pagan. Except for Christ's birth and the name, everything else is of pagan origin. I don't know why christians are so surprised at this.

The tree, holly, mistletoe, singing, feasting, gift giving and Santa all have a pagan past, most from Yule/Solstice celebrations. The most logical theory I've heard is that early christians adopted pagan rites so that the newly converted pagans would not be drawn back to their old ways by the temptation of the holy day's celebrations.

Basically it was a marketing move by early christians, and a good one, because it worked.

I don't know why this upsets so many christians, but as a pagan, I have no problem sharing traditions. Those early christians must have known a good thing when they saw it and imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I enjoy seeing the decorations that directly correspond with my holiday of Yule. I don't mind sharing, why do you?
The reason that they do this is because Christmas was placed by the Christians to purposefully coincide with a pagan holiday of Yule (northern hemisphere) or Litha (southern hemisphere) also because some of the traditions of Christmas have pagan origins such as the Christmas tree that has been traced back to the ancient Egyptians who worshiped many god.

Sorry but these origins are not false like it or not.

As a pagan I could ask you why do you celebrate the birth of Christ on a randomly chosen day?? Christmas day is not Christs real birthday . Why do you believe that all your Christmas traditions are christian in origin?? Makes no sense that some traditions would not have influences from different religions and cultures. that assumption would be arrogant and ignorant to make.

I don't know the answer to you last question seems ridiculous to me. I suppose I would have to ask a christian that. so... Why would Christians celebrate a totally false holiday that in truth has nothing to do with Christ?

Edit when are people going to accept that being pagan does not mean that we worship the ';devil'; or consort with ';demons';?? you believe in the devil we don't.
Incorrect, we celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25th. Christ was most likely not born on this date, and the early church merged this tradition with the worship of Mithra on this date. Historic holidays are by and large old pagan dates, used by the Roman Empire as a means of syncreting Christian beliefs with historic pagan festivals ... the first true guerrilla marketing baby!

It is what it is, we don't know when Christ was born, but we celebrate it on the 25th. We even hang baubles on a pagan bush ... oh well.

Ath
Troll alert.

A holiday has whatever meaning the celebrants choose to apply to it. A particular date on the calendar does not become permanently tainted because of ';pagan'; associations in the past. Plus, some religions have chosen to REPLACE ';pagan holidays'; with their own ';holy days'; so as to use traditionally important dates but for new and ';higher'; purposes. This was the case in Europe where many traditional folk holidays (which you have deemed ';pagan';) were ';recycled'; by the Catholic Church so that they had new significance via their various masses and holy days.
Um, the modern Christmas holiday IS heavily influenced by pagan holidays like Yule and Saturnalia. They early church took these celebrations and adapted them to it's beliefs, aka the birth of Christ.

I don't understand why people get so upset when told this, it doesn't degrade your beliefs in any way. Might as well be educated about your religious traditions instead of just being outraged when someone says something that you don't like about them
I can't explain what defects in the thought process

cause people to do irrational things, however the

';pagan'; origins of Christmas is a documented fact

which I can easily prove to you.

Solstice Blessings,

Jean
The church under Pope Julius I declared that Christ’s birth would be celebrated on December 25 in 350 AD in order to try to hijack the PAGAN festivals but it was largely ignored. Christians did not really celebrate Christmas until 378 but it was then dropped in 381 and not resurrected until 400.

The Venerable Bede, an early Christian writer pointed out that the Christian church absorbed Pagan practices when it found the population unwilling to give up the festivals. Thus a lot of what Christians now see as Christians practices are in fact pagan!!!

Recent research says that ';IF'; Jesus was born it was almost certainly in June!! Wonder if the christians would ever consider worshiping that date and leaving everyone else to celebrate christmas without their bleating?!!

America actually banned Christmas several times and is the originator of the expression “Happy Holidays” which came about because of the pagan origins of Christmas to include all religions and traditions!!

So nothing has changed really still nothing to do with christianity other than their desire to make christianity more pagan!!
Its a day they set a side to honor God.

We are not worshiping the pagan holiday but God.

We can make any day a day to worship God.

Even a holiday like we do at thanksgiving

If you choose not to do that, it is your choice.

Do not condemn others who choose to worship God on that day and honor the savior that God gave to all mankind. The shepherds went and worshiped jesus on the day of his birth. So if God had the shepherds do it, who is to question God when his followers do it now on a certain day now.

We know Jesus exact birthday is not known but that does not stop us from worshiping God.
You make a false assumption that Christians do not relate Christmas (despite its origins) to Christ or his birth.

I can celebrate Christmas in July if I want. The time of year is unimportant, but the meaning that I, as a Christian, attach to the celebration is what counts.
The intelligence level here is low. Let me explain. Before Christianity, Europe was Pagan. The Pagan's celebrated the solstice, then Christians used Pagan customs during the solstice to help try to convert people to Christianity. Also note that bible directly says that you will be damned to hell if you decorate a tree and sing around it. This is because that was a Pagan tradition. Also, please note that Christmas is no where near the birth of Jesus..... you big idiot.
Does it really matter what day you celebrate the birthday of a great prophet?

The fact that such a one was born and walked the earth among us

deserves celebration. Some of us find Him born in our hearts every day.

While lesser mortals only do it on Christmas. What is wrong with that?
Because people are so use to doing this,

they don't care to take the time to know the truth.

They will make up excuses for their horrible behavior;

i.e.

It's Jesus' b-day--No It Isn't.

OR

We don't do it for those reasons.--think God Almighty cares?

OR the ever popular...

We do it for the kids.--Lie to your children,

that's the way to raise 'em up!

Jesus said it best when he said:

They are from their father the devil.

He is a manslayer, and did not standfast in the truth.

Satan is the father of the lie.

And that is what they are doing, honoring a lie.

And as a last note, on this topic....

They are deeply rooted in the apostasy!

Satan has blinded their minds.
nothing to do with Christ? isn't that why it's called Christ-mas?

anyhoo, please, Christians, do the world a favor and destroy each other to extinction. I can't wait to see the day where Christianity is already extinct!
this is one reason i do not celebrate christmas.

i do study the jewish festivals because God says in scripture that they are good. but man cannot turn something bad into something good only God can do that.

Peace!!
Because it was politically advantages for them to take up the traditions, instead of force their own onto others at the time of their growth.
This Christian has been running into alot of very interesting information that is making me totally reconsider the whole idea of christmas. From what I understand Jesus wasn't even born in december!
the pagan origins of christmas are not false. Chrismas means different things to different people so if a christian wants to make christmas about jesus they can go ahead :)
Pagan have their ow guide of Jesus Christ and Chrisitianity!
I don't know. Why do they?
Why would Christians follow Paul, who never even met Christ?

Sheeeeeeple.

Baaah.
hmmmmmmmm well theres one group of christians that dont and they are jehovahs witnesses
you could ask this about any holiday..why focus on xmas?

For the last time, we are not celebrating a pagan holiday, we are celebrating the birth of our savior. Getting caught up in the date doesn't change this basic fact. The why rather than the when is what is important.
Because they've been brainwashed into believing a bunch of bullshit. Just like Muslims.
athiests want to turn it into a devil/deamon holiday. thats why.
