What happens to a person that makes a false report about you to the police?

They can be charged criminally with making false police reports and the other party can file a civil law suit against them. What happens to a person that makes a false report about you to the police?
Filing a false report charges and a lawsuit. What happens to a person that makes a false report about you to the police?
They can be charged for giving false statements.
That is a crime. If you can prove they intentionally made a false report, notify the authorities.
The person gets arrested for making a false police report and you sue this chump for slander.
They testify against you in court, and you get convicted.
They are summarily beheaded.
A potential lawsuit.
apparently nothing. that ho that accused the duke university boys and ruined their lives and the school got away scott free........ not to mention the thousands of tax payer dollars the crooked DA spent on investigating the non crime and now he himself is in trouble. boy, she sure did an awful lot of damage and what..... nothing happens to her? she got away with a grip of trouble.

didnt she.............
They go to jail!!
When they make a false police report, it is considered a felony and if they catch you, they will put you in jail. Police are not there for fun and games. In today's world what with terrorism and all the high crime rates, they take no chances.
you half to prove it in court and it sux. my ex girl friend told the police i punched here and without hesitation i was arrested and i promise as god as my witness i have never put a hand on any ladie, but i got arrested and lost my job over it but it did get dropped after about 6,000 worth of attorney fees.
Usually nothing if the police think it was just a mistake.
