What if you file a false police report and go to trial and are found guilty?

Is that person arrested?

Not about me. A story that I heard. What if you file a false police report and go to trial and are found guilty?
It depends on the laws of your local jurisdiction.

For example, filing a false police report in New York state can be either a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the circumstances.

Conviction for a misdemeanor is generally punishable by up to one year in jail, while conviction of a felony will generally result in a term of not less than one year in prison, although part or all of the sentence can be suspended and the violator placed on probation. What if you file a false police report and go to trial and are found guilty?
Depends on the state/city who's jurisdiction it is but the possible penalties usually include something like a year in jail and a minor fine ($1,000-$2,000) but i doubt a judge would invoke that penalty in most cases more likely it would be something like community service. Probably no arrest involved unless they don't show up for court or it's a report of something serious like murder.
Depends on what the judge decides is the proper punishment. The person who is found guilty may be fined, placed on probation, sent to jail, or any combination of these. If he is sentenced to confinement, he may have the opportunity to turn himself in or a warrant may be issued for his arrest.
of course because it's perjury
