How do I stop someone from filing false police reports against me?

A mentally ill woman has been stalking my boyfriend for three years and filed false police reports against me. No charges were filed but I'm afraid she won't give up. She claims I am trying to kill her. I have never threatened her or even spoken to her. Any advice would be useful.How do I stop someone from filing false police reports against me?

If this is something that happens all the time the police will figure out that her claims are bogus and they could charge her with public mischief.


Be sure to report any incidents of stalking to the police promptly.


If you get an officer coming to your door with a complaint from the woman, be patient with the officer and explain the situation. It could be that the officer has no idea there is a history of false reports and that she is mentally ill.
let the police know in advance that she is like this and ask their advise...at least they will know the situation before hand and it may be easier on you when she does.
File police reports alledging both the filing of false police reports and harassment against you. Go to court and ask for aa restraining order. Sue her in small claims court





A friend had a similar problem. He was able to sue her multiple times in small claims court. Each suit was for $5000 and each time he filed not only for himself but for his wife and each kid. He got multiple judgements against his crazy neighbor and she was ultimately forced to move and sell the house to pay him his money.





The key to all of this is documenting the harassment. He used video, a record of all the 911 calls she made (obtained from the PD who were as sick of her as he was) and pages of detailed notes

depending on where you live, this person may have already violated several statutes. stalking, harassment,terrorist threats, etc. go to the police and report this at once. obtain a restraining order. filing a false police report is illegal in any jurisdiction and a felony in others. good luck and be careful.
